Roadside Assistance

Ensurall Roadside AssistanceEnsurall Roadside Assistance is now offered as an option on all Ensurall warranty service contracts. The service is available across Canada and the continental U.S. 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

 

 

 

 

 

The following roadside emergencies are covered:

Towing: Transport of your broken down vehicle to the nearest authorized repair facility or to a garage of your choice up to 5 km radius of the breakdown site.

Battery Boost: Jump-start of a vehicle when the battery is too weak or needs to be boosted. If the vehicle will not start, a tow can be provided in accordance with the terms and conditions of the program.

Flat Tire Change: Replacement of a flat tire with the vehicle’s spare tire. If a spare tire is not available, a tow can be provided in accordance with the terms and conditions of the program.

Fuel Delivery: Emergency supply of gasoline in the event that the car runs out of gas. The cost of the fuel must be paid by the driver.

Winching: Extraction of a vehicle that is stuck in mud, sand, snow (not to be confused with a car that has not been dug out of the snow) or a ditch.

Locked Out Service: If the keys are lost or locked inside the vehicle or if it is broken in the ignition, the vehicle will be unlocked or started. If the vehicle cannot be started, it will be towed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the program.

 

Ensurall’s Roadside Assistance Employs Sigma Assistel

Sigma Assistel offers the widest range of assistance services in Canada providing telephone assistance services to three-and-a-half million Canadians.

Callers will get an immediate personalized response when requesting assistance using the Sigma Assistel 1-800 number. Sigma’s superior phone system enables the service to manage an unlimited number of calls twenty-four hours a day in several languages.

How the Sigma Assistel 1-800 telephone assistance works:

Step 1: Upon receipt of a roadside assistance request, Sigma’s service coordinators will verify the caller's eligibility. A list provided by Ensurall on a weekly basis will serve as a reference tool for validating service eligibility.

Step 2: Through Sigma’s supplier network, a towing service will provide the appropriate assistance, in accordance with the conditions and limitations described above.

Step 3: Sigma will be responsible for direct payment of fees covered under the contract to the supplier following service delivery.

 

Ensurall Roadside Assistance Services are subject to the following conditions:

  • The number of Roadside Assistance service calls is limited to 4 per year.
  • Only the insured vehicle is covered for assistance services.
  • Assistance is provided for the insured and his/her spouse and children residing at the same address.
  • It is possible for wait times to increase in poor weather conditions. Under certain exceptional circumstances, it is possible the service coordinator will request that you locate your own towing service and submit your receipt for reimbursement. The maximum allowable reimbursement is $50.
  • This service does not cover fleet vehicles.

 

Roadside Assistance service is provided for current emergency situations related to non-commercial use of a passenger vehicle.
Not covered by the service are the following:

  • Second service for an identical cause due to the failure to address necessary maintenance or repairs;
  • Snow removal for a vehicle covered or surrounded by snow;
  • Seasonal tire change, installation or removal of chains;
  • Vehicle storage;
  • Parts, labour or repairs required following a breakdown;
  • Arrangements for repair and the payment thereof;
  • Towing of a vehicle
    • when the driver is absent from the breakdown site;
    • from one repair facility to another;
    • from a repair facility to another location;
    • to a recycling facility;
    • for a driver who is unable to operate a vehicle due to drug or alcohol consumption or fatigue;
    • which has been in storage, temporarily unused or unlicensed or a vehicle which is not roadworthy. The vehicle must be in working condition, suitable for public roadways and propelled by its own engine.
  • Service for a vehicle that is broken down or stalled on a private road, a vacant lot, an ice or snow covered private drive (snow removal is not covered), a beach, a roadway which is not serviced, uneven or not cleared or all other sites which are not readily accessible.
  • Towing or winching of a vehicle weighing in excess of one (1) ton;
  • Service resulting from an accident;
  • The program is not offered:
    • for motor sports, other recreational vehicles, motorcycles or snowmobiles, nor for vehicles pulling a caravan, trailer or other equipment;
    • for vehicles with a commercial purpose or for incidents whereby the vehicle was being used for commercial purpose by the insured or his/her immediate family;
    • for all vehicles, due to their size and weight.
