Consumers Pay Up to 60% Less For Ensurall’s Extended Auto Warranties
For Immediate Release
Markham, Ontario, (August 5, 2008): With high gas prices and the increasing cost of owning a vehicle, many Canadians are looking for ways to save money -- whether they’re buying a new car, a used car, or maintaining their present vehicle.
But one area is often overlooked by consumers in their quest to save money on a vehicle. “Typically warranties are bought from dealerships, but consumers can save a bundle on an extended car, truck or SUV warranty if they do some comparison shopping on the Internet,” says Shadi Jarjoura, director of sales for Ensurall, one of Canada’s leading auto warranty providers.
Ensurall sells upgraded and extended service contracts identical to those sold by car dealerships and other warranty providers. It sells warranties directly to consumers at discount prices of up to 60% less because the company markets their products over the Internet. “Not only does Ensurall offer the best prices to consumers,” says Jarjoura, “we also offer a diverse range of extended auto warranties whether it’s just Powertrain or complete bumper-to-bumper coverage.”
To contact Ensurall, call 1 (800) 358-8164, or email info@ensurall.com, or online at www.ensurall.com for a comprehensive, free quote.
An Ensurall customer from Ottawa recently saved $5,000 on an extended four-year warranty for his Land Rover by comparing prices on the Internet and then buying his warranty from Ensurall. “He almost dropped the phone considering he was just quoted $9,000 for a three-year warranty through his dealership, while we were able to provide a quote of $4,000 for Ensurall’s upgraded 4-year/ Supplementary 5-Star Warranty that even covers brakes,” Jarjoura recounts. “Because we cut out the middleman, our warranties are cheaper and consumers get a much better price.”
Ensurall Warranty Plans
Ensurall offers three levels of warranty protection in Canada for cars, trucks and SUVS: Powertrain Plus, Supplementary 5-Star and Bumper-to-Bumper, plus an Optional Plan. Ensurall is highly regarded in the automotive industry for its high level of customer service providing fast, hassle-free warranty claims payment.
Ensurall’s Powertrain Plus Warranty Plan provides comprehensive coverage for a vehicle’s Powertrain, including engine, transmission, differential and transaxle, plus vehicle and towing allowance. Ideal for older model vehicles.
Ensurall’s Supplementary 5-Star Warranty Plan is the most inclusive mid-range component warranty you can buy in the industry. Ideal for newer vehicles, this plan includes all of the mechanical components for mid-range coverage and offers excellent value.
Ensurall’s Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty Plan is simply the best level of coverage you can get. Offers total care and worry-free coverage for your vehicle. With a few exclusions, every component and part of your car, truck or SUV is covered.
Ensurall’s Optional Plan – also referred as wrap-around coverage – provides optional add-ons so consumers can top-up coverage on their cars, trucks and SUVs. Optional coverage includes such items as air conditioning, electric system, fuel injection, ABS brakes, and more. Optional coverage components can be added to any existing warranty whether it’s an Ensurall product, a competitor’s or a manufacturer’s warranty. Perfect for consumers who want to extend their manufacturer’s warranty beyond the standard 3 Year Bumper-to-Bumper/ 5 Year Powertrain plan. Consumers can save up to 60% by buying an extended warranty from Ensurall rather than their car dealership.
Ensurall’s Auto News & Notes
As a service to its customers, Ensurall issues a monthly newsletter, Ensurall’s Auto News & Notes, providing helpful information on buying new or used cars in Canada and the U.S., tips on saving fuel, updates in the auto industry and more.
Buying a Vehicle in the U.S.
Internet shopping is leading Canadians to U.S. dealerships for their new or used car purchases. Canadians can save 25% or more on a car purchased in the U.S. and imported into Canada. But many of these vehicles, even if purchased brand new, have no warranty coverage because many manufacturers are voiding warranties of U.S. vehicles once they are registered in Canada as a means of discouraging Canadians from buying cars in the U.S. to protect Canadian dealerships. Ensurall provides warranty coverage both on new and used vehicles bought in the U.S.
To buy direct from Ensurall, consumers can call 1 (800) 358-8164 or email info@ensurall.com or online at www.ensurall.com for a comprehensive, free quote.

What Car Brand is Most Dependable?
J.D. Power and Associates released its Annual Survey of the Most Dependable Vehicles. J.D.
Power surveyed the owners of 2005 model year vehicles, and asked the participants to report back
on problems they experience with their vehicles over a 3 year period. The problems included,
excessive wind noise, noisy brakes, vehicle pulling to the left or right, Issues with the instrument
panel/dashboard, and excessive window fogging. J.D. Power concluded, for the 14th straight year,
Toyota's Lexus Brand is the most dependable vehicle by their standards.
Speaking with the President of The Veri-Cheque Group of Companies, Ronald Renwick, regarding
the J.D. Power & Associates Report, Mr. Renwick finds the report interesting but, "the devil is in the
details" says Renwick, "as a warranty provider our main interest is in whether a transmission or
brake calipers will hold up beyond the manufacturer's initial warranty period, not so much if there is
excessive noise in the cabin at high speeds. Although this type of measure can give you an
indication of a vehicles overall engineering quality--if the radiator has a history of breaking down--
this is much more important to us, than cabin noise."
Over the last 10 Years Ensurall and Garantie V.C. (Garantie V.C. is Ensurall's French Language
Brand) have sold many tens of thousands of contracts on just about every make and model vehicle
available in North America. A huge amount of information is gleaned from this extensive
experience, including which components on what makes or model's have the greatest tendency to
break down, as well as which components in what makes or models are the most expensive to fix--
both in terms of dealership labour rates, and cost of replacement parts. Renwick, explains if you
want his best advice regarding vehicle reliability an examination of Ensurall's prices for different
makes and models is his best indication.
Below is a comparison of Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, and Toyota makes. We
compared 5 categories of cars from each fleet, compacts, full sized sedans, mini-vans, SUVs and
pick-up trucks. We used the price of a 5 Year/105,000 KM Ensurall 5 Star Warranty on 2005 model
year vehicles with 60,000 KM on each vehicle for our test.
Ensurall's Reliability List:
1.) Toyota: Narrowly edges out Honda for our top spot. Toyota has no star performers,
however has no real weak spots either. Consistently reliable across all their models. Warranties on
these vehicles are the most affordable.
2.) Honda: Would have scored better, but the Honda Pilot brought Honda's overall score down a
bit. In every category except SUV the Honda is as good or out performed the other makes.
Honda's SUVs were tied with Ford's SUV line-up.
3.) Nissan: Japanese cars are great balance of reliability and low cost for repairs. Nissan is
close behind Toyota and Honda.
4.) GM: A large gap exists between US and Japanese makes but GM is best among American
makes. GM's compact models perform almost as well as the Japanese makes.
5.) Ford: Consistently mediocre. American cars generally have a higher failure rate, however
"cost per repair" are lower, and therefore warranty prices are still very economical.
6.) Chrysler: In the Sedan category Chrysler is better than Ford otherwise they bring up the
rear in all vehicle categories.
Buy your Car Warranty from a Canadian Provider
We have received an alarming number of calls from people who have purchased warranties from
US dealerships, only to find out later that their warranties are not valid in Canada. It is my best
advice to buy a warranty from a Canadian Provider.
If you have purchased a Warranty from a US dealership, you should call the warranty provider and
ensure you have coverage. Ask them at least these two Questions: 1.) My car is registered in
Canada, will you cover me? 2.) My car has a voided US Manufacturers warranty; will you cover me
if I have a break down?
Also please be aware of the following information:
Canada has specific consumer protection laws on the books for warranty providers.
American Companies fall outside of these laws
IF,(and it's a big IF) there are American consumer protection laws which guide American
warranty providers, Canadian consumers will not be afforded the benefits of these laws
As a Canadian, If you have a dispute with an American Warranty Provider, you have no
access to any court system to settle that dispute, niether in Canada or the United States

Cross Border Car Buying Hits Record
The number of vehicles Canadians bought in the United States soared in the first
six months of the year and is on pace to smash the record set in 2007, despite
some moves by auto makers last year to adjust their prices to reflect the rise in
the value of the Canadian dollar.
Canadians imported 151,169 vehicles as of June 30, compared with 189,738 in
all of 2007, according to data compiled by the North American Automobile Trade
Association, a group that represents dealers, brokers and others who participate
in cross-border automotive sales.

Best & Worst Cars on Gas
The loonie is undervalued compared to its American counterpart but should be on its way
up, according to two prominent Canadian economists.
CIBC economist Avery Shenfeld said the Canadian dollar should average at two cents
above the US dollar in 2009.
And in a recent report for analysis firm Global Insight, Dale Orr said the Canadian dollar
should currently be well above parity with the U.S. dollar due to continued high oil prices,
which the dollar's success has traditionally mirrored.
The dollar closely followed oil prices when they rose from US$34 per barrel to US$95
between 2003 and 2007. But, it has remained relatively stagnant in the commodity's
unprecedented climb to US$140.
Now that it seems as though oil prices won't be dropping anytime soon, the markets are
likely to see the loonie catch up, Orr wrote.

Transport Canada News Release - June 26 2008
Government of Canada harmonizes bumper standard.
A new federal regulation took effect on June 25, that improves the design of bumpers
on Canadian passenger cars by harmonizing the Canadian car test speed requirements
with those already established in North American and European markets. The amended
bumper standard will help to facilitate importation, but before buying a vehicle in the
U.S., Canadians should check with the Registrar of Imported Vehicles about the rules
and process for importing vehicles RIV.

Use Auto Broker when importing from the US and watch out for Car History
Canadian consumers might see slight savings and more options if they buy a used car imported from the U.S., but they need to do their homework and use a reliable broker to avoid getting tangled in licensing and service issues before signing up for an American car. The rising Canadian dollar has made buying a car in the U.S. cheaper for Canadians, who have been throwing fistfuls of their increasingly valuable money into all kinds of U.S. goods, from clothing to books to luxury SUVs. Buying a Car In The US and Importing it into Canada
Buying a car in the USA and importing it into Canada has been made easier and easier over the last several months, mainly because of the internet and our willingness to share experiences with one another.
There are 3 basic steps to importing a car into Canada; First finding the right car: This Step involves, finding out which cars are legally admissible into Canada. (go to www.riv.ca) Also, finding the right car for you and your budget, if buying New, you need to find a US Dealer that will sell to Canadians, they are out there even if they are technically not supposed to sell to Canadians as per their Franchise Agreement from the manufacturer. If buying used, you may want to purchase through a dealer or search privately through US Car Classifieds websites like www.edmunds.com.
The second step is securing financing. The best option is securing a Personal Line of Credit from your local Chartered Bank or Community Credit Union. You can also opt to enter into a Lease Buy Back arrangement with a leasing company, and immediately pay down your Personal Line of Credit Loan, thus enjoying lower monthly payments.

| Dollar Parity, US Economy Woes, Perfect Storm for Cross Border Car Shoppers
Ever since the Canadian dollar neared and reached parity with the American greenback, Canadians from coast to coast have been looking south for their next ride. Dollar parity has certainly been the impetus for the buying, however a US economic downturn is also contributing to lower prices for used cars in the US. Like the sub-prime meltdown in the US housing sector, many US car buyers with questionable credit worthiness were approved for financing on their vehicle purchases over the last few years. The Financial Post reports, in a shaky US jobs market, these borrowers are finding it difficult to keep up with their payments. Delinquency is on the rise as is vehicle repossessions. Similar to the housing market, this scenario leads to higher supply and lower prices across the board for both new and used cars.
